About Me: Hi, my name is Shannon and I'm a local certified ASL-English interpreter, mother and wife. I began interpreting professionally in DC but I have relocated to neighboring Baltimore where I do on-site and virtual work. I love connecting with people, learning new things, and supporting my friends and family any way I can!

What I hope to bring to PCRID is: Gentleness, grace, and transparency. I hope through my leadership I am able to model a kindness and honesty that stays with people as they navigate not only the field of interpreting but in their own lives too.

Interpreting Background: Hi Everyone! I'm History Estill-Varner and I've been working as a part-time Freelance interpreter since 2015. In 2017,  I moved to DC and love it! I appreciate the diversity of work and people you can find here - I get to dabble in a bit of everything! In addition to my interpreting work, I've worked as a Director of a non-profit and recently transitioned to a Program Manager in the for-profit tech space. I love the ability to bring my professional background to my interpreting work and believe it makes me a well-rounded interpreter.

What I hope to bring to PCRID is: As community liaison, I look forward to creating connections and collaborative partnerships. I also believe that my non-profit background will be an asset to this already stellar team!
