Certification: NIC Performance Exam & CDI Knowledge Exam
Two (2) NIC Performance Exam and two (2) CDI Knowledge Exam scholarships will be awarded annually during the PCRID annual conference.
PCRID’s certification exam scholarship encourages uncertified members that have not yet taken a nationally recognized performance test to take steps toward national certification.
Applications must be submitted in person or by email to SAGE@pc-rid.org on or before August 20th.
Eligibility Requirements*

Applicants must submit proof of being members in good standing with PCRID and RID prior to the application deadline.

NIC Performance Exam applicants must submit proof that the NIC Knowledge Exam has been passed and they are eligible to take the NIC Interview and Performance Exam on RID/CASLI terms. CDI Knowledge Exam applicants must submit proof they are eligible to take the exam on RID/CASLI terms.

Applicants must submit a letter explaining the need for the scholarship, why you are the most appropriate candidate, and how you could positively impact the D/deaf, hard of hearing, and/or interpreting communities if the exam is passed.

Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a professor, Deaf professional, colleague, or mentor. Please have your reference send the letter directly to the SAGE committee at SAGE@pc-rid.org.
* If there are no proposals and/or applicants do not satisfy criteria, no grant will be given.
* Awardee will be reimbursed according to receipts provided per PCRID Policy.
